To signal the growing global trend towards the adoption of renewable energy, TNB has partnered with mGATS to allocate 4,000 MWH of renewable energy via Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to the Smart Nation 2020 Expo. This will offset the energy carbon footprint throughout the event. REC is a globally accepted market-based instrument that allows the owner of the certificate to claim that the energy consumption is sourced from renewable energy. Through REC mechanism, Smart Nation 2020 Expo will be the first event in Malaysia that is powered by 100% renewable energy.
